Early Childhood Education Teacher

Job Description
A Quality Rated Childcare center in Metro Atlanta is looking for a professional teacher to prepare children between the ages of 8 weeks- 12 years old for kindergarten by easing them into organized education. The teacher must be able to develop classroom structure and routines. A teacher must have a great love and patience for children. Qualifications needed to teach them effectively include knowledge of best practices and early childhood educational methods as well as the ability to engage them and earn their trust and attention. The ability to follow a curriculum, compose lesson plans and implement lesson plans in classroom environment. The goal is to contribute to the healthy mental and emotional development of the child so they can more easily acclimate socially.
Responsibilities
- Develop a careful and creative lesson plan and classroom routines
- Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.) to teach children
- Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
- Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments
- Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.)
- Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times
- Track children’s progress and report to parents
- Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children’s background and psyche
- Collaborate with other educators
- Maintain a clean and safe classroom consistent with center policies and state rules
Skills
- Minimum of 1 year experience working with children
- Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
- Excellent communication and instructional skills
- Ability to act as mediator between children
- Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable
- First Aid/CPR Certified (Preferred)
- CDA, TCC, TCD or Associated or Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education

Cook (Part-time)

Visionary Learning Academy is looking for a qualified Assistant Cook to join our team to help provide nutritious meals to support quality childcare and education to our children in a safe and social environment. Serving the Atlanta community for over 15 years, we provide compassionate care to all our children, instilling values that set a foundation for the rest of their lives.
Responsibilities
- Prepare 2 meals and 1 snack for 45-65 children each day
- Prepare meals in accordance with the Child and Adult Food Program guidelines
- Prepare and serve attractive, nutritionally balanced meals for the children
- This position is responsible for maintaining high standards of quality food production and portion control using standard recipes and also for appropriate quantities of food needed to meet menu requirements
- Ensures that food is stored and handled properly, and that the kitchen and all its equipment are thoroughly sanitary.
- Responsible for keeping logs to track cleaning duties, purchasing food and keeping records of those accounts.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age and in possession of a high school diploma or its equivalent
- Applicants should have at least one year of experience in meal planning and preparation, knowledge of early-childhood nutrition, and experience working with groups of children
- Candidates are also required to undergo criminal background checks and TB skin tests, as well as pre-employment and random drug screens.

They should be in possession of basic mathematical skills and must be able to accomplish accurate record-keeping. Further, cooks must be able to work safely around stoves and chemicals while having the physical endurance to spend many hours standing, walking and lifting heavy objects.

JOB DESCRIPTION
- Adapts classroom work for the purpose of providing students with instructional materials that address individualized learning plans within established lesson plans
- Administers subject specific assessment and test for the purpose of assessing the level of students' competencies
- Advises parents and/or legal guardians of student progress for the purpose of communicating expectations; student's achievements; developing methods for improvement and/or reinforcing classroom goals in the home environment
- Assesses student progress towards objectives, expectations, and/or goals for the purpose of providing feedback to students, parents and administration
- Collaborates with instructional staff, other school personnel, parents and a variety of community resources for the purpose of improving the overall quality of student outcomes, achieving established classroom objectives in support of the school improvement plan
- Directs instructional assistants, volunteers and/or student workers for the purpose of providing an effective classroom program and addressing the needs of individual students
- Facilitates preschool student’s learning (e.g. art, science, music, housekeeping, story time, movement activities, etc.) for the purpose of improving the student’s academic success and transition to elementary school
- Models conversation, manners, cleanup activities, listening skills, etc. for the purpose of demonstrating appropriate social and interpersonal behavior
- Monitors students in a variety of educational environments (e.g. classroom, playground, field trips, nap times, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment
- Prepares a variety of written materials (e.g. grades, attendance, student records, etc.) for the purpose of documenting student progress and meeting mandated requirements
